Dean DeNielsen, born and bred in Cape Town, South Africa, moved though the Cape Town ‘Hard House’ scene from 1999 - 2005 starting at the tender age of 15, in the ‘glory days’ of Studio 47, The Gallery & 96 Degrees.
Winning the first ever "Up n Coming" DJ Competition at 96 Degrees at just 17yrs old, he had already met an industry goal he’d set himself!
Dean has supported the likes of Rachel Auburn, Anne Savage, Kutschi, Blank ‘n Jones, Guyver, Ingo, Paul Maddox ,Dean Fuel, Scott Small and performed a long and sorely missed B2B Partnership with friend and fellow music enthusiast, Leyton Lee.
Dean still holds his ongoing residencies with Club33 Productions and Mixed-Up Production in Cape Town, South Africa.
Dean has now, slowly moved into the House scene, bringing with him, a variety of sounds, from Minimal & Tech through Progressive House, to full-on Psy-Trance.
Dean, a keen follower and supporter of technology, performs mainly using Ableton Live, with his AKAI APC40 Controller, allowing him to chop and change, sampling loops and vocals, but can still be seen from time to time, burning out a pair of CDJs.
Having moved back to the the UK in 2008, Dean is now spreading his sound, at a few top notch venues in and around London and has just returned from the Ibiza Heat Tour 2009.
Dean’s passion for music, his approachability and his ongoing involvement in the industry, both in the UK and still …back home is South Africa, stand him in good stead for things to come, as it is quite clear that he has a prominent future in the music performance and production industry.
